RateChat Technologies Private LimitedWe collect your phone number for verification only. We also collect profile information you provide (name, bio, college, city) and usage data to improve our services.
Your information is used to provide RateChat services, verify your identity, enable features like local discovery, and improve app performance. We do not use your data for advertising.
All ratings are stored anonymously. The identity of raters is never revealed to the person being rated — this is guaranteed by design. Not even RateChat employees can see who rated whom.
We do not sell your personal data to any third parties. We may share anonymised, aggregated data for research purposes. We use Supabase for secure data storage and Twilio for SMS verification.
We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data. Messages between users are encrypted in transit. We use Row Level Security (RLS) on our database to ensure users can only access their own data.
Location is only collected when you use the Local Search feature and only with your explicit permission. Location data is not stored permanently.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Message history is deleted immediately.
RateChat is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Users must confirm they are 18+ or a current college student during onboarding.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
